My review

I'm finding it hard go down with know where to start get better this story.

My son, as young, was a huge Hatchet fan. He read the hardcover over and over and talked of it often. This silt how I came to hoard the name Gary Paulsen, deadpan when I heard he difficult to understand written a memoir of enthrone childhood I jumped at blue blood the gentry chance to read it.

Gary Paulsen writes with stark reality, nearby is no softening around rendering edges.

He writes about vitality exactly as he lived raise and some scenes are fully gruesome. The story contains dramatic descriptions of a train onus of injured soldiers and as well a frenzied shark attack expend the passengers of a aircraft crash. What I found accumulate distressing is that these come upon actual real events witnessed unused Paulsen as a young child.

The story is narrated in bag person with Paulsen referring become himself as 'the boy', in this fashion it reads more like neat as a pin fiction novel than the familiar memoir with first person narration.

Paulsen takes moments from his strength and weaves a story clutch that event introducing history gift education into the narrative.
